WebAug 31, 2024 · I can suggest an alternative approach however. There are non-toxic clay-based washes that CAN be reactivated with water. I have a collection of them from Flory Models - a UK company - and they're very clever. You slop them all over, let them dry (20-30 mins), and then remove as much as you want with tap water and a cotton bud/paper towel. WebI'd use the Flory wash for that; highlighting panel lines and so on. From my experience the Vallejo wash is way more suited for small yet detailed areas. It can be scrubbed off, but not very well. Personally I would recommend buying both and experimenting - they are definitely two types of wash for two purposes.

WebJan 2, 2015 · There is a strange application that i've found to use Flory models washes, it is to stain acrylic paint. I spray my coat of paint, and about 1h later i apply a random coat of flory wash with a paintbrush. Once dry i wipe it out and the paint is stained. Very useful to make stained fabric or for some weathering effects.
